OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Preparation of the machine:
• Place the knife sharpener on a flat, hard surface.
For additional fixation (if necessary) you can use clamps
in the form of clamps.
• Place the knife in the clamps (jaws) of the machine so that
it is securely fastened and not moving during sharpening.
• Set the desired sharpening angle on the machine. To do

Turn on the gauge and set it to ZERO POSITION and reset
it to zero.
After that, insert the PDTools Superabrasives bar into the
clamps on the guide rail and place the zeroed goniometer
on the special platform. Use the adjustment mechanism to

according to the the knife manufacturer’s recommendations.
Select the abrasive:
• Select the appropriate grit for your PDTools Superabrasives
for sharpening, depending on the depending on the
condition of the knife. For example, start with a coarser
grit for repair damage, and then move to a finer grit for
polishing.
Sharpening the knife:
• Hold the machine and the knife steady and start moving
the guide with the stone, along the blade with a gentle
force, evenly distributed over the entire length of the
knife’s cutting edge.
• Move in the same direction with equal force to maintain
uniformity of sharpening.
• Repeat this process for each bar in decreasing grit to
achieve a smoother, sharper cutting edge, periodically
turning the knife over.
Cleaning and maintenance:
• After sharpening, clean the whetstones from any residual
abrasive and dirt by after sharpening by rinsing them
under running water.
• Keep the machine clean and dry by storing it in a
dry place after use.
